A words from the artist... "Autumn is such a beautiful time, not just visually but metaphorically. It is a time of quieting down, a time of release.
When the leaves fall there is no resistance but also no force. The tree doesn’t cling to its leaves for fear that they won’t grow back, nor does it worry about what it’s new growth will look like. It simply exists in the moment and trusts that it will flourish once more when the time is right.
I love the idea of letting go of the things that no longer serve us, and not from an energy of rejection or judgement, but with grace and gentleness, the way the tree releases its leaves when the time is right.
In a world where ‘progress’ is synonymous with ‘success’ it can feel very uncomfortable to take a moment to conserve your energy and go inward, especially if you’ve shed something that wasn’t working for you. Others may even see it as a step backward and urge you to keep moving forward, and know that they’re coming for a beautiful place of love and caring. But, if the Mighty Oak needs time to release, rest and be dormant for a time, it’s more than okay for us to need that to."
